“ I don’t know where I would be without the experiences, lessons, and growth I went through during my matriculation at THEE Clark Atlanta University." -Dana Martin

"I don’t know where I would be without the experiences, lessons, and growth I went through during my matriculation at THEE Clark Atlanta University. There are some things in life that can be spoken or written, but the things that matter the most are the intangible lessons and forced growth that’s comes with them. Its within these times, purpose can be discovered. It’s one thing to know you’re black, but it’s another to truly embody what that means and really know who you are and walk in that unapologetically! CAU taught me most of that and some!”

Michael Houston

 HBCU Alum- Tuskegee University 2012

"Lifting the veil of ignorance is a quote that I learned while at Tuskegee when I was in orientation. It taught me to not to take everything as is, but to find the truth in it, which helped a lot in my English class and in the military

HBCUs are not just a place of education. These schools are safe havens for black students to express themselves, honor their culture and heritage, and grow in a country that denied them that right because of prejudice and racism. The fact that HBCUs continue to serve this function in 2019, is a bonus to those that receive the experience.
