WHAT:HBCU Bound 2020 Day - Nationwide student recruitment/advocacy initiative was designed to support the National College Decision Day with a focus on students committing to HBCUs.
WHEN:Now until Friday, May 1, 2020
WHERE:This recognition is an international virtual experience among all social media platforms using the hashtags #HBCUBound and #HBCUBound2020 along with other related tags to celebrate the day and those of the supporting organization.
WHY:A high school senior choosing what four-year post-secondary institution to attend should have been one of the most exciting decisions they had to make. Instead, due to COVID-19, they have been faced with an uncertain spring semester, an abrupt transition to online classes, and adjusting to the loss of not having traditional high school year-end festivities. As a result, the NAC have gathered to celebrate high school seniors' accomplishments and the decision to further their education.
HOW:Through a series of featured national programs, local and regional efforts, and institution-led related events, all interested parties will be able to recognize incoming students and parents and celebrate the success of alumni and current students all while advocating and educating the general community of these institutions of higher learning.
MOREINFO:For more information about the initiative, activities and a complete list of the participating organizations and related events, LIKE-SHARE-FOLLOW UNCF.NAC on Facebook or Instagram.
